The Challenge
Metadata management is one of the most repetitive tasks for content authors. Every page requires metadata such as titles, descriptions, social sharing content, and SEO information.
Traditionally, authors had to manually review page content, write metadata, validate SEO requirements, and update Sitecore fields page by page. While manageable for a few pages, this becomes a significant operational burden across hundreds or thousands of pages.
For a site with 5,000 pages, spending just 4 minutes per page results in over 330 hours of manual effort. The outcome is often inconsistent, outdated, or missing metadata that can negatively impact search visibility and content discoverability.
The Solution
To address this, we implemented an Agentic AI workflow within Sitecore.
The process is simple:
- Author selects a Sitecore item
- The AI agent retrieves page content and existing metadata
- Content is analyzed and optimized metadata is generated
- Current and suggested values are presented side-by-side
- The author reviews and approves the recommendation
- Approved metadata is automatically updated in Sitecore
This keeps authors in control while eliminating repetitive work.
