5 Reasons To Look Forward To Sitecore Symposium - Getting Started

Sitecore Symposium is such a highlight of the year for me. I am looking forward to connecting with colleagues from around the world, exchanging knowledge and learning from each other. One of my favorite groups of people to connect with is those just getting started with Sitecore. I really enjoy their enthusiasm and connecting them with our XCentium team to answer all their questions.

Again this year, Sitecore has a robust line up of breakout sessions for new Sitecore enthusiasts. I’m specifically looking forward to these five things in the ‘Getting Started’ track at Sitecore Symposium:

Enabling Your Marketing Team To Run With Sitecore

Tuesday, 12:45-1:30 p.m.

Empowering your teams to use the marketing tools in Sitecore including content management, personalization, optimization, and campaign management is invaluable to getting the most out of your Sitecore investment. This session teaches a traditional IT-led content management approach to a self-service digital marketing model, embracing the crawl, walk, run mentality. It’s so important to develop Sitecore with two user groups in mind: your internal users and external visitors.

100s of Users, 10,000s Of Pages, Many Designs: How To Manage It?

Tuesday, 4:15-5:00 p.m.

Building Sitecore with re-usable templates is a hallmark of a good implementation. This session features Southern Methodist University, which has a single web site running Sitecore for the vast majority of its public-facing marketing content. Hear from the SMU Director of Web Application Services on how they manage such a large site, provide for multiple brands for our schools, and keep distributed editors happy.

Sitecore’s flexible and scalable model for multi-site creation is core to the solution. This session covers SEO, multi-language analytics data, user language identification, and content translation.

A Practical Guide To Partnership Between IT and Marketing

Wednesday, 2:00-2:45 p.m.

If I had a company, I would create a liaison position to bridge the gap between IT and marketing. This will be an interesting session with practical guides to help you on your journey to make a successful Martech team. Learn steps to make the relationship between IT and marketing teams stronger, which will ultimately help your KPI’s.

Learning to SPEAK And Impress Your Customers And Colleagues By Taking Sitecore Customization To The Next Level

Thursday, 10:30- 11:15 a.m.

Getting started with Sitecore can be overwhelming Julia Gavrilova and Olga Kogan, Sitecore MVPs at XCentium, will teach developers who are just starting with Sitecore, and would like to impress customers and colleagues, to SPEAK. Sitecore Process Enablement and Accelerator Kit (SPEAK) is a framework that allows you to build applications within, or outside of Sitecore, that look and feel like Sitecore. Join these women of Sitecore to learn how to create a SPEAK 3 application from start to finish.
