Pace Supply
A modern B2B website gave buyers real-time inventory, pricing, order history, quick order, reordering, customer catalogs, and Excel uploads to simplify purchasing
About the client
PACE Supply is an employee-owned plumbing wholesale supply company serving Northern California, the Central Valley, and Hawaii. Founded in 1994, the company distributes plumbing, hydronics, fire protection, water treatment, and related products. It also operates decorative plumbing showrooms for customers with specialized project needs.
Challenge
PACE Supply wanted to improve its digital experience for B2B customers. Buyers needed a simpler way to find products, check availability, place orders, and manage purchasing tasks. The site also needed to support the complexity of B2B purchasing while delivering an experience that felt closer to a B2C shopping journey.
Solution
PACE Supply partnered with XCentium to revamp its digital experience with a sleek, modern, and intuitive interface for B2B customers. The goal was to make complex purchasing tasks easier while preserving the workflows B2B buyers depend on.
XCentium helped streamline the buying process so customers could quickly find, order, and manage products. The new website gave buyers real-time inventory visibility at local branches and across the PACE Supply network, helping them decide whether to pick up items locally or ship them to a job site.
The site also provided instant access to real-time pricing, order history, and other important purchasing data. Customers gained efficient ordering tools, including quick order, reordering, customer catalogs, and Excel spreadsheet uploads for bulk orders.
Outcomes
The new website made traditionally complex B2B transactions easier for PACE Supply customers. Buyers could place orders, retrieve important information, and get back to work with less manual effort.
The website also earned recognition for Best In Industry Customer Experience, reflecting PACE Supply’s focus on delivering a more convenient and efficient B2B buying experience.
Technology
- Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud
We started our ecommerce replatforming effort 3 years ago, with our main goal to enhance customer experience. With that focus, we ensured we were getting accurate data by implementing a PIM before working with XCentium to help us replatform with Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud. We then spent 6 months testing the product with customers to ensure satisfaction. Even though we just launched, we have already seen a dramatic uptick in online customer engagement. We are incredibly excited for the future and how our ecommerce solution will help us serve our customers.
