While engaged in a larger rebrand, West Monroe wanted to address key issues with their Content Management System (CMS) such as flexibility, performance, content creation effort and developer dependence. With their previous system, updates required heavy developer involvement, slowing processes and raising costs. In the market for a more agile CMS with faster time to market, they decided to move from Sitecore to ContentStack.

As part of the migration to Contentstack, the XCentium team implemented a suite of advanced tools to enhance functionality, user experience, and compliance:
Algolia: A powerful search and discovery platform, Algolia was integrated to provide fast, accurate, and user-friendly search capabilities. Its ability to index content rapidly and deliver relevant results ensures a seamless experience for users navigating large volumes of content.
Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics (GA): These tools were configured to track and measure website performance effectively. GTM enables easy management and deployment of tags without modifying code, passing it into GA for valuable insights into user behaviour, traffic patterns, and engagement metrics, empowering data-driven decision-making.
OneTrust: A leading platform for privacy, security, and data governance, OneTrust was implemented to ensure compliance with global regulations like GDPR and CCPA. This integration helps manage user consent, data privacy preferences, and ensure a trustworthy digital experience.
By integrating these tools during the migration, XCentium delivered a more dynamic and efficient CMS solution with ContentStack while ensuring enhanced functionality, analytics capabilities, and regulatory compliance for West Monroe.

XCentium transformed West Monroe’s digital experience by addressing their core challenges and equipping them with a modern, scalable CMS platform with ContentStack.
Site hosting was also migrated to ContentStack Launch. With more efficient code and Launch integration, the site performance improved significantly, with Google Lighthouse scores improving over 45 points 98%. Accessibility and SEO scores jumped 10 and 16 points respectively.
By integrating Algolia, the website now offers lightning-fast and accurate search capabilities, which enhance user engagement and satisfaction. The implementation of Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics (GA) has provided actionable insights into user behaviour and content performance, enabling data-driven improvements. Additionally, OneTrust ensures robust compliance with global privacy regulations, fostering trust and transparency with users.
The project accelerated from design approval to launch in just 10 weeks, a remarkable but efficient turnaround. During implementation, XCentium seamlessly migrated and restructured over 2,000 content items, aligning them with new data models and content taxonomies. The outcome is a streamlined, agile platform that not only expedites content updates but also minimizes developer dependency, driving faster time-to-market and enhanced operational efficiency.
