SUCCESS STORY

Flexera

Making a switch that enhanced their commerce capabilities along with design and content.

Overview

Flexera delivers SaaS-based IT management solutions that help enterprises optimize their technology investments. Their products, including InstallShield and InstallAnywhere, have been used globally to package software for installation on PCs and servers. At one point, Flexera’s products were responsible for installing 80%-90% of all Windows software in the world.

Challenge: Looking for Enhanced Capabilities

Flexera was seeking to modernize and improve its eCommerce operations by replacing its previous .NET custom web-store. The company needed a more comprehensive and user-friendly platform to manage product information, streamline merchandising, and enhance buyer experiences for both individual consumers and businesses.

Solution: Making the Switch to Salesforce

To meet these needs, Flexera partnered with XCentium to implement Salesforce Lightning B2B Commerce. The solution was designed to:
Expand Salesforce Usage: XCentium built on Flexera’s existing Salesforce community and expanded it to handle eCommerce, allowing Flexera to define custom buyer experiences.
Comprehensive Merchandising Interface: Salesforce Lightning B2B Commerce provided Flexera’s merchandising and marketing teams with greater control over the product information displayed to customers.
Hands-On Control: Flexera’s teams gained direct control over content and merchandising, allowing them to tailor the user experience more effectively.

Outcome: Gaining More Control and Flexibility

The Salesforce implementation gave Flexera more control over their eCommerce operations and enhanced their ability to manage buyer experiences:
Admin and Manager Capabilities: Administrators and managers gained the ability to import key commerce data for accounts, products, price books, and entitlements directly into Salesforce.
B2B and Consumer Purchases: Flexera could now offer products to both individual consumers and businesses through Revenera’s eCommerce platform, provided that users were registered.
SSO Integration: Custom code was developed to enable Single Sign-On (SSO) integration between Salesforce B2B Commerce and Flexera’s Khoros Lithium customer forums, creating a more seamless user experience across platforms.
Enhanced Design Capabilities: With Salesforce Experience Cloud, Flexera gained the ability to quickly customize and create designs and content, ensuring that their platform could be easily adapted to changing business needs.
Role-Based Access: Flexera could assign roles to contributors, ensuring that each user had the appropriate level of access based on their specific responsibilities within the platform.
Flexera’s transition to Salesforce Commerce has empowered the company to streamline its eCommerce operations, enhance product management, and offer a more tailored experience for customers, all while providing greater control for internal teams.
