Stay up to date: Here is your chance for a brief overview of new and improved Sitecore features that have caught my attention this past quarter.
Although the second quarter of 2025 marks the final quarter of the financial year for Sitecore, it does not mean that development across the product portfolio has come to a standstill.
In a hurry? Then click here for a ChatGPT-Summary.
Firstly, let’s look at SitecoreContent Hub, where we now have Guided Search, meaning smarter asset discovery with AI.
The new Guided search option is now available for early access, offering a smarter, AI-powered way to find assets. It lets you enter longer search phrases and receive suggestions, up to 10 relevant facets, and results based on both text and image similarity. If you leave the search box empty, Visual and Colour search options appear, giving you multiple ways to discover content.
We now have AI-Powered Bulk Image Tagging, the ‘Tag with AI’ operation now supports tagging multiple assets at once. This will help marketers add metadata more quickly to enrich and improve searchability across image libraries with a large number of images. You can choose the tagging profile you want, then let AI do its thing.
In Sitecore CDP (Customer Data Platform) we got a couple of new Actions to more easily manage guests and their data, as well as orders. This allows easier synchronization between your e-commerce (whether Sitecore OrderCloud or not) and CDP profiles.
There is also a new interface for tracking batch operations needed to feed data to and from CDP.
While we wait for the countdown at https://sitecore.ai, not surprisingly, Sitecore Stream (Sitecore’s AI product) is the product that has had the most changes, updates and new features this quarter.
Brand Kits now have subsections, which are helpful, for example, in creating a localized tone of voice or using a different style for a specific audience. It also looks different with new knowledge and section tabs. You can now follow the number of documents and knowledge chunk metrics, as well as which sections use which tool.
A new dashboard is available for tracking interactions, making it easy to identify trends over time.
‘Projects’ is another new functionality which leverages Sitecore Stream. It offers to help you with your projects by suggesting tasks that may need to be completed, such as ‘social media content’ and ‘email newsletter’ and then bundles them together to form a project that needs to be delivered. You can now monitor progress and manage your project schedule directly from your timeline and even modify tasks without navigating away from it.
Stream can now also be used to translate your content into any language your site uses.
Sitecore XM Cloud has also had some nifty new features and improvements. Smaller things, such as having a dedicated role for form editors, so they no longer need access to your content, but can optionally work on forms only. Super useful quick links to the Explorer and Content Editor, which I personally appreciate, are now available. Additionally, you can now adjust the right-hand pane, making editing easier.
As mentioned above, the project planner is new and super useful for marketing teams. Rolling out a new campaign or service offering requires a comprehensive list of activities, many of which must be completed within Sitecore XM Cloud. This does require Sitecore Stream, but it is certainly worth it, especially for larger teams where different people have different responsibilities.
We also have a new way of organising our pages in the Page builder, where the layers tab now allows full control of organising the different elements within the page. Particularly for the occasional content author, this is so handy when wanting to reorganise a page.
Sitecore OrderCloud has also undergone several updates, including the addition of native fee support, which can be added at checkout. As we know, shoppers often forget their login details. Now, with OrderCloud, we can generate single-use authentication codes, also known as one-time passwords, which are sent to the user for quick and easy access while staying secure.
Sitecore Search and Send have also undergone improvements and new features, including the use of AI to automatically generate Q&A content from your existing content and make it directly available within Search. And when users engage (or not) there are two new automation triggers to help with your email campaign management.
Of course, these are just some of the updates and changes from Sitecore this quarter. Find more at Sitecore.com and get in touch if you need help leveraging any of these features in your Sitecore solution.
