Flexera
Moved ecommerce to Salesforce B2B Commerce to give teams more control over product data, content, design, and buyer experiences for businesses and registered consumers
About the client
Flexera delivers SaaS-based IT management solutions that help enterprises optimize their technology investments. Its products, including InstallShield and InstallAnywhere, have been used globally to package software for installation on PCs and servers.
Challenge
Flexera needed to modernize its ecommerce operations by replacing a custom .NET web store. The existing approach limited the company’s ability to manage product information, support merchandising, and shape buyer experiences. Flexera needed a more complete and user-friendly commerce platform that could support both individual consumers and business buyers.
Solution
Flexera partnered with XCentium to implement Salesforce Lightning B2B Commerce. XCentium built on Flexera’s existing Salesforce community and expanded it to support ecommerce, giving Flexera a way to define custom buyer experiences.
The new commerce experience gave Flexera’s merchandising and marketing teams more direct control over the product information shown to customers. Teams could manage content and merchandising more easily, making it simpler to tailor the experience as business needs changed.
XCentium also developed custom code to support Single Sign-On, or SSO, between Salesforce B2B Commerce and Flexera’s Khoros Lithium customer forums. This helped create a more seamless user experience across platforms. Salesforce Experience Cloud also gave Flexera more flexibility to customize designs, create content, and assign contributor roles based on each person’s responsibilities.
Outcomes
Flexera gained more control and flexibility across its ecommerce operations. Administrators and managers could import key commerce data for accounts, products, price books, and entitlements directly into Salesforce.
The new platform also supported purchases for both businesses and registered individual consumers through Revenera’s ecommerce platform. With Salesforce Experience Cloud, Flexera could adapt design and content more quickly while giving contributors the right level of access.
