Starlight Children’s Foundation is a nonprofit organization that brings happiness to seriously ill children and their families. Since 1982, Starlight has supported more than 60 million children across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UK through programs that help brighten the lives of young patients during difficult times.

Challenge

Starlight’s legacy Magento eCommerce platform agreement was coming to an end. The nonprofit needed to move to a new platform quickly while keeping online services available for hospitals and patients. Starlight also needed a flexible, scalable solution that would improve the experience for hospital staff and external stakeholders.

Solution

Starlight selected Salesforce B2B Commerce Cloud because it could build on the organization’s existing Salesforce Customer Relationship Management system. XCentium helped Starlight move from Magento through a multi-phase roadmap designed to support a smooth transition and reduce disruption.

The new platform gave hospital staff a more familiar, consumer-like shopping experience. Staff could place orders anytime, anywhere, and on any device. XCentium also helped deliver a clean, modern design that maintained Starlight’s visual identity while making the site easier to use.

Outcomes

Starlight now has a more seamless and engaging online ordering experience for hospitals across the country. The modern interface helps hospital staff navigate the system more easily and place orders more efficiently.

The move to Salesforce B2B Commerce Cloud also gave Starlight a scalable and flexible foundation. The platform’s API-first, microservices-oriented architecture helps Starlight adapt and grow while keeping front-end and back-end systems aligned.
