Synthetic Persona — Documentation
Persona-driven copy suggestions for Contentstack Personalize audiences.
What it does
Pick a Personalize audience and a place to write. The app builds a persona for that audience, reviews the entry's copy through that persona's eyes, and returns a short list of prioritised, field-level suggestions. Accept the ones you agree with and each is rewritten and saved as a draft.
- One persona per audience. The first time an audience is used, a persona is generated and saved. Every later run on any entry reuses it, so the same audience means the same reviewer.
- Suggestions are tied to real fields. Each one names the exact field it changes. Anything that cannot be expressed as a single-field edit is labelled Manual effort and has no button.
- Nothing is written without you. Each Accept rewrites one field and saves a draft. Publishing is always separate and manual.
Requirements

The app works on the stack's default locale only.
Installing
- Install the app on your stack from the Marketplace.
- Open its Configuration screen and provide all four:
- AI provider — Anthropic or OpenAI
- AI API key — yours; usage is billed to your own account
- Contentstack Management Token — Settings → Tokens → Management Tokens, on this same stack
- Personalize project uid — visible in the Personalize URL: …/personalize/projects/<uid>/…
- Save. The app is unusable until all four are set.
- Open any entry and find the panel in the right-hand sidebar.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What it means |

| "…isn't configured with a Personalize project uid yet" | Set the project uid on the Configuration screen. |
| "No Personalize audiences exist for this project yet" | Create an audience in Personalize first. |
| "This app personalizes the default locale only" | Switch the entry to the stack's default locale. |
| "…is a Lytics segment" when creating a variant | A Personalize experience can only target Personalize's own audiences. Create a matching audience in Personalize → Audiences; it then appears in the list and works normally. Lytics segments still work for the Base entry and existing variants. |
| "Manual effort" on a card | The change needs more than one field — apply it by hand. |
| "The write did not verify" | The save was not confirmed on re-read. Check the entry before retrying. |
| "Too many requests" | The per-installation rate limit. Wait and retry. |
Privacy and data
Generated personas, sessions and reports are stored in your own asset library. Entry text is sent to the AI provider you configured, under your own key. No website visitor data is processed, and personas are fictional constructs, not real people.
